Fixed – Picture Windows

A fixed window, also known as a picture window, is a stationary window (no operable panels). Fixed windows are typically constructed with either a casement/awning or sliding frame, or with a direct set piece of glass with no added framing (sitelines) to the clear opening of the window. They are often mulled with other window configurations, such as a casement/fixed/casement or a double hung/fixed/double hung. Fixed windows are different from sidelites because a fixed window does not have a door sash and bottom sill to match the profile of a door. Storefront application of fixed windows needs to have the proper waterproofing at the bottom of the frame in order not to damage your wall.
