Barbara and Mike have a beautiful craftsman cottage nestled between the Mission Hills and North Park neighborhoods. They walked through our doors, at Designer Window Supply, with the goal of maintaining the historic integrity of their craftsman home and were interested in what craftsman cottage window styles we could offer. We conversed about aesthetic options and fit and finish details, performance, and the value of well-constructed materials. They settled on Marvin windows and doors to allow the beauty of solid Vertical Grain (VG) Douglas Fir to warm their interiors while the durability of the aluminum clad exterior protects their investment from the elements with the added benefit of easy maintenance.
We asked Barbara and Mike to share their experience so that customers understand the difference you can expect when working with Designer Window Supply and what makes us your premier Mission Hill window and door supplier.
The pair were initially drawn to working with Designer Window Supply because, as they said, “it is local, small and women owned company, with a large selection of brands.” This large selection of brands gave Barbara and Mike a lot of craftsman cottage window styles to choose from, something our owner, Krystal Hauseur, would help them choose the most functional and aesthetically pleasing option for their home.
Krystal asked Barbara and Mike if they could describe their experience working with us. They explained that even though they had walked in without an appointment, Krystal spent “a considerable about of time listening to us and educating us about windows and the various options.”
After explaining their desire to find windows that fit the character of their home, going over the various craftsman cottage window styles at Designer Window Supply, and making their choice, the windows arrived. But there was an issue the pair discovered about a year later. With the original installer unresponsive, they called us and again worked directly with Krystal to have these issues fixed. “One issue did require an installer and DWS identified another service group. This group came out and did an excellent job addressing the remaining issue,” Barbara and Mike explained.
Marvin windows are pine because wood scientists have found it to be the best material. It’s the least expensive wood and structurally strong. It resists pests and rot. Clients will appreciate the affordability with zero sacrifices to quality, style, or performance.
So, why should you make us your Mission Hill window and door supplier? We’ll let Barbara and Mike tell you, in their own words: “While we could have gone to a larger supplier, we are extremely happy with the personalized experience and knowledge from DWS. We believe that a locally owned business, such as DWS, provide a personal touch working with us through the entire process, including working with us through and after installation.”
We appreciate Barbara and Mike for sharing their story and their home with Designer Window Supply, and we hope you’ll allow us to be part of your home whether you’re remodeling, upgrading, or simply looking to replace a broken window or door.
