It is very exciting to report that new products continue to hit the market! As of June 28, 2021 Marvin is expanding their product offerings to include, new inswing and outswing doors in the Ultimate and G2 (traditional door) product lines.
Marvin Ultimate Inswing and Outswing Doors
Some of the distinctive features of the Ultimate doors are the 3” narrow site lines of the stile and rail doors, the 10 foot heights, 4 panel configurations with 18 inch to 42 inch operable sidelites and Marvin’s standalone concealed multipoint hardware along the edges of the doors for the ultimate refinement of your swinging doors. These door not only marry well to any modern and contemporary home but they also out perform their competition and are perfect for customers who are situated in their forever home.
Marvin G2 Inswing and Outswing Doors
Some of the stand out product features of the G2 Inswing and Outswing doors are the 4-3/4 inch narrow site lines of the stile and rail doors (rails also available in 8-1/8 inches, option for raised and flat panels, 10 foot heights, redesigned screen for a clean aesthetic, and Marvin’s standalone concealed multipoint hardware along the edges of the doors. While contemporary and traditional hardware is available, the G2 model fills the transitional architectural styles, updating craftsman and beach bungalow cottages, along with postmodern architecture.

Pricing: COVID’s lasting impact on Materials, Labor, and Lead Times
The effects of COVID are still with the building industry with materials and labor shortages impacting delivery and lead times. Most notable we are seeing Milgard vinyl lead times pushing from the 7-10 business days to 40 business days (8 weeks), so do plan ahead when considering Milgard for your home. Also, as of May 20, 2021, Milgard had a pricing increase across their vinyl, aluminum, and fiberglass product lines, attributing their new prices to the escalating cost of glass, as reported in the US Glass Magazine, “Increasing Supply Chain Costs Drive Price Increases for Industry Supplier” (Ellen Rogers, May 11, 2021).
